Student Governments Baking For A Cause
HCSS Student Governments of NHS and Student council applied for the the NASSP Student Service grant. We were awarded a grant of $750. With this grant, NHS and Student Council students will collaborate with the non-profit organization called Give A Cake Bakery to bake a large number of baked goods with the goal to produce enough to feed 500 people.

It was a very busy Saturday morning on May 9th for NHS and Student Council students who teamed up to bake a mountain of goodies for the Food Bank of Western Mass and New Hope Pantry in Chicopee, MA. Using a NASSP grant awarded to NHS President and the Student Council VP, Shannon Caloon, students were able to purchase baking supplies and ingredients and prepare enough treats to serve over 580 people! Special shoutout to John Conroy of @Give A Cake Bakery for coming in to lead and coach students through such a big task. Lastly, we want to say congratulations to all the students who helped make a real difference in our local community.
